Going For Broke

Broke my right arm in a crash yesterday, on my last day cycling in NZ (would you believe I entered a road race?).

Makes typing difficult. Actually, it's making everything difficult, I'm slowly discovering.

Ugh.

Well, it's been an unbelievable ride. More to come, including photos, when I'm able.

whoa! so so so sorry. happy, though, it was on the last day.

and i think it is sweet that you enter your first road race in a foreign country!

we can get drinks when you come back to oakland. did you get a cool new zealand flag colored cast?

Wow - sorry to hear about the arm! Do you have a trainer (where you can hook up your bike to make it stationary)? Maybe you can find one cheap or on Craig's list or at Performance Bike. At least it was on your last day and not your first day.

Sorry to hear about your arm, Laura. I look forward to hearing all about the RR and your riding in NZ.

Ouch, so sorry to hear about your arm. I hope you aren't in any pain. Hope you've still been able to enjoy your remaining time. What a trooper, typing left-handed!

I want IN on drinks in Oakland when you get back. :-)

are you trying to usurp the nickname "crash"?

no?

well, it worked!

no, really. i'm sorry. that sucks a lot. perhaps you'll be more of spinner again for a while?

Thanks everyone for your sympathy! My cast is sooo lame! No flag! And worse: it can't get wet...I'm hoping for some sort of upgrade from the doctor on Tuesday; one that will at least allow me to sweat.
